My artistic practice explores the mediation of bodies and movement through performance, installation, and video. Working across live, live-streamed, durational, and one-to-one formats, I create situations in which perception shifts with our position, attention, and access to mediated representations. Surveillance and biomedical technologies become materials for exploring intimacy and the limits of bodily measurement and control.
Since 2013, I have collaborated with composer and computer scientist John MacCallum, now working as Friction Field Collaborative. Our work includes III, a series of performance-installations exploring the materiality and musicality of the heart, and Im/mediations, which investigates how we exist together in mediated and virtual contexts. My recent practice extends these inquiries into synthetic media through experiments with AI-generated movement.
