Beneath the pavement, an ocean

Scream, pant, and sigh – three contrasting iterations of breath and voice which exert a deep physical and emotional charge. In  Beneath the pavement, an ocean, choreographer Teoma Naccarato embraces the virtuosity of repetition as a means to render simple tasks extreme.  The physicality of the dancers is intensified further by the responsive sound-scape, which demands severe dynamic shifts in order to trigger and transform a relentless wall of sound that permeates the space.
